Agricultural Villages Near Bethlehem

Located 9 km to the west of Bethlehem, Hussan is a village of around 4,000 people. Remains found in the village date back to the Iron Age, the 6th century BC and the Middle Ages, and there are many khirab or ruins in and around it. Hussan provides more of interest in the area surrounding it rather the old core itself, as few old buildings remain. The lands of Hussan are graced with pine forests and are home to many resident and migratory bird species as well as an abundance of mammal and plant species. There is lovely narrow road high above the valley bottom, perfect for a hike to see the salasel, or stone terraces.
