Mr. Jamal Sabateen, president of the council, praised the role of CCHP in using the heritage for the benefit of the community which is considered a major aspect of the Palestinian identity, especially in these circumstances.
As well he stressed the need to protect such sites for the benefit of the community and local organizations, hoping the continuance of such projects in Hussan.
In addition, Arch. Issam Juha, Director of the CCHP, paid attention to the importance of such projects, within the "Job Creation through Rehabilitation" programme to achieve sustainable development in the long run, and pointed out that 40% of the budget is to provide new job opportunities.
A presentation was conducted by Mrs. Mays Yatim Salsa', head of Public Awareness and PR, explaining the importance of partnership between the Centre and the institutions of civil society for the protection and maintenance of cultural heritage, in addition to displaying pictures for some of the centre's activities and projects' sites before and after rehabilitation to promote the concept of heritage to the public. Moreover, she stressed on the project objectives, standards of rehabilitation and implementation phases of the project.
It is worth mentioning that this project is the second of its kind in Hussan for the fact that this village is rich of valuable historic sites and buildings and for the positive attitude of its inhabitants toward the heritage.
