Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation in Bethlehem - Palestine won the first prize from ICCROM-ATHAR Regional Conservation Centre in Sharjah after submitting the “Revitalization of the Historic Centre of Beit Sahour” Project to the preservation of cultural heritage in the Arab region (sites and museums).

Within the project “Cultural & Natural Heritage; A Tool for Socio-Economic Development” – rehabilitation of Ein Al-Balad and Al-Maidan Square in Battir implemented by Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP), the centre provided the Battir Municipality with 18 kiosks to be used for the various cultural activities in the area.

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Battir Municipality and CCHP celebrated the completion of the rehabilitation works of Al-Maidan Square and Ein Al-Balad, implemented through the British Council in Partnership with Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and the inauguration of the Battir First Popular Market.
