"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
As part of the awareness meetings for Rehabilitation of Saint George Hosh Complex for the Adaptive reuse funded by the Italian Government through the Palestinian Municipalities Support Programme (PMSP), CCHP in cooperation with Beit Jala Municipality held a participatory meeting with Beit Jala council members, Orthodox Churches Representatives and Al-Ihsan Society on Friday 14th of December, 2012 in the Municipality building, with the presence of Dr. Nael Salman mayor of Beit Jala, and Arch. Issam Juha director of CCHP.
This meeting aimed to discuss the objectives of Saint George project, the current situation and project's phases, throughout a presentation given by Arch. Luma Qumsieh, regarding the most appropriate use of the project, where a committee was formed consisting of the Municipality of Beit Jala, Orthodox Churches Representatives, Al-Ihsan Society and owners, to follow-up and choose the best for the project.
