"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
As a part of the awareness activities for the Rehabilitation of the Commercial Area in the Old city of Bethlehem project, funded by the Italian Government through the Palestinian Municipalities Support Program (PMSP), CCHP in cooperation with Bethlehem Municipality organized a site visit for architecture students from Bir zeit University on the 17th of January.
Mr. Khalid Ariqat, PR & Awareness assistant welcomed the students and gave a short presentation about CCHP and its goals. Afterwards, Arch. Majed Shawawra explained about the project’s overall accomplishments up till now focusing on the current problems, then came up to mentioning the contest’s requirements and needs where some architectural details should be designed, such as; benches, pergolas, shop signs, waste containers, metal protection for the sidewalks… etc.
