The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Governor Abdel Fattah Hamayel, and Bethlehem Mayor Ms. Vera Baboun, and Arch. Issam Juha director of the CCHP, follow-up committee for the project, shopkeepers and inhabitants of the area and representatives of community organizations.
At the beginning, Arch. Juha welcomed the attendees and presented a simplified explanation of the project and pointed out the importance of this meeting to strengthen the approach taken by the municipality and CCHP in community planning for this vital project.
In her turn, Ms. Baboun stressed the importance of the project in terms of development and aesthetic and tourist area especially that it is one of the vital and important areas in Bethlehem. Moreover, she stressing the need to involve all citizens in the planning process and development of the project, and to intensify efforts at all levels.
The governor of Bethlehem emphasized on this initiative and the need of Bethlehem for such projects, which comes to meet the demands of society and at the same time working within an organized system to improve the living conditions and economic development of society, and called for joint cooperation for the success of the project.
Afterward, the project engineer, Faten Lafi, Ziad Al-Sayeh and Majid Shawawreh, introduced the project plans, the objectives of the project its duration, the current problems and the current situation, amid a positive reaction by the audience. At the end of the meeting, the door was opened for any feedback and recommendations of the audience to be taken into account in the designs related to the project stemming from the needs and demands of society. It is worth mentioning that all agreed that this project is a community project based on the needs and requirements of the community to serve the public interest and within an organized system and a deliberate policy.
