A cultural – educational trip to Jenin

Jenin-Trip In cooperation with the Engineers Association – Bethlehem Branch, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) has organized a cultural-educational trip to Jenin within the community participation activities done by CCHP.  Around 110 persons participated in this trip including engineers form the Engineers Association – Bethlehem Branch, representatives of Bethlehem, Beit Jala and Beit Sahour Municipalities and the staff of the CCHP. The Engineers Association – Jenin Branch welcomed the visitors and introduced them to Jenin's cultural and ancient sites and gave them valuable information about each site. 

 

Jenin-Trip-2 The trip is part of "Know your country" programme which aims at introducing the community to the ancient and cultural sites in Palestine and ensuring their importance and the cultural and architectural value. The trip route started by visiting A'raba village in which the participants got to know the history and the beauty of Abed Al Hadi Mansions. Following was a visit to Canaan Fair Trade, where a tour inside the factory was given to the participants about the work done by the fair trade followed by a walkthrough the exhibition of the fair trade. The next site visit was to Saint Georgios Church in Burqin which is considered the fourth most ancient church in the world, following by a visit to Marj Ben Amer and Bal'amah tunnel. The last stop was at Haddad Touristic Village.

Moreover, the programme is funded by The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida" through The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO" – Ramallah.
