Through “Urban Sites Rehabilitation in: Bethany, Bethlehem, and Burqin” funded by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Compete Project, A memorandum of Understanding was signed today between Beit Sahour Municipality represented by its Mayor Hani Al Hayek and The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – CCHP represented by its director Arch. Issam Juha. The Memorandum includes the commencement of the procedures of”the Rehabilitation of Shepherds field Street” to become a touristic street under the supervision of Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – CCHP.
The project includes the beautification of the street, the rehabilitation of the street lighting and the asphalting of the street and pavement. The Shepherd’s field area is considered a vibrant touristic location to the city of Beit Sahour. Moreover, Beit Sahour Municipality targets all sectors of the city with different projects which is part of its strategic development plan that aims at achieving sustainable development to the city.
