The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation hosted a workshop carried out by The Old City of Jerusalem Revitalization programme – Welfare Association under the title "Introduction on Structural Analysis and Consolidation of Historical Buildings in Palestine", targeting engineers and architects from Jerusalem area and CCHP team.

The workshop was held in CCHP headquarter for four days; the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 11th of November, 2014, and materials were prepared and presented by H.E. Dr. Khalid Qawasmi.

The workshop material included two parts: The first part introduced the scientific approach to the study of architectural heritage in which they discussed the role of structure in the history of architecture. And the second part explained the subject of structural analysis of masonry buildings. Moreover, a site visit was conducted to Dar Zreineh, a traditional building located in the Historic Centre of Beit Jala and has major structural problems, in order to provide a better understanding and analysis for different structural problems and present the proper ways to treat them. The workshop used a main text book; "The Conservation and Structural Restoration of Architectural Heritage" by Giorgio Croci.
