Participatory meeting with stakeholders regarding Hosh Al-Syriac Rehabilitation Project

As part of the awareness activities accompanying the "Rehabilitation of Hosh Al-Syriac in Bethlehem for the adaptive reuse as guest house" project, which is funded by the Italian Government, through the Italian Cooperation Office in Jerusalem, through the Palestinian Municipality Support Programme (PMSP), CCHP in cooperation with the Bethlehem Municipality held a lecture regarding the "community participation and their role in preservation".  The lecture was held at the Syriac Society Hall, targeting the stakeholders and inhabitants of the project's area.

Arch. Faten Lafi welcomed the attendees and presented to them the final design and use of the Hosh, and the completion date of the project, which is expected to be the 14th Feb 2013.


After that Ms. Mays Salsa', Head of Public Awareness and PR at CCHP pointed out to the importance of the community participation in such projects and their role in certain issues and the side effects, especially regarding the health issue of the Hosh before, during and after rehabilitation.

 

Afterward, the ground was opened for discussion and collecting feedback which will help in implementing the project and to guarantee its sustainability
