Within the efforts of the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) to preserve the cultural heritage and its sources in Bethlehem, CCHP has organized a workshop to build the capacities in the field of oil painting in traditional buildings for engineers and technicians in this field. The workshop will took place from the 17th to the 30th of March, 2014 at Dar Morcous Nassar, under the supervision of the expert Caroline Pholien from Belgium. This workshop is the first of its kind in Bethlehem area specialized in traditional painted ceiling and murals.
CCHP in collaboration with Riwaq - Centre for Architectural Conservation Ramallah, with support from the Heritage Centre in the Belgian province of Walloon (IPW) and the foundation of Walloon Brussels International (WPI) has finished the first stage of Dar Morcos Nassar rehabilitation, and working on preparing for the second stage.
The building will be re-used after the rehabilitation as the headquarter of the Ma'an for Life Organization that serves people with special needs and help them integrate into society.
