Ms. Vera Baboun, Mayor of Bethlehem welcomed the participants and talked about the Star Street and its importance as a World Heritage Site, stressing on the role of youth people in saving our cultural heritage and confirming our Palestinian Identity.
More than 45 youth participated in the competition from 12-15 years old, from the Salesian Scout group, Al-Tali'a Orthodox Group, St. Joseph Scout, and the Baptist Scout.
Participants were divided into six groups, where they started searching for clues and information in the Historic Centre of Bethlehem reaching to Vienna Hall, where each group used the collected information in answering the competition's questions.
Ms. Mays Salsa', the PR and Public Awareness Officer at CCHP presented a brief description about the CCHP and its various projects in saving our cultural heritage and involving the local community in the process of cultural heritage preservation.
Afterward, Ms. Vera and Arch. Issam Juha, Deputy Mayor and Director of CCHP honored the first three winning groups, and offered consolation prizes for the rest of the groups.
In turn, one of the participants thanked the organizers of the activity and expressed her happiness in being part of such important activity, which gave her the opportunity, even though not to win, to combine with other scout groups and discover our cultural heritage
