Job Vacancy

The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation “CCHP” in Bethlehem is carrying out surveys in number of Cultural Heritage Landscape areas in Bethlehem District, and for this purpose the centre is seeking to recruit employees and consultants in the following positions:

1. Architect or Civil Engineer (new graduate) according to the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or civil engineering;

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Carry out surveys for the cultural heritage landscapes areas;

* Document the site using aerial maps and field surveys;

* Work within the team to bring out the charts and maps required.

 

2. Archaeological Surveyor, according to the following qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in related field;

* Practical experience not less than 7-10 years.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Determine the archaeological sites in the area selected by the institution;

* Archaeological survey work for these sites and subscribe them to the zone scheme;

* Prepare brief description of each site;

* Submit a report within all requirements within a period not exceeding two months.

 

3. Natural Heritage Expert according to the following qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in related field;

* Practical experience not less than 5 years.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Field survey to provide a preliminary assessment of the biodiversity in the designated area, and classify it according to national and international standards;

* Field survey and description of the place in terms of geomorphology and hydrology;

* Provide preliminary assessment of the impact of the settlements on the environment of the studied area, as well as the potential impact of the segregation wall in case it was constructed in this area.

 

Qualifications required for all vacancies:

* Proficiency in computer applications, especially the GIS;

* Experience in field work;

* Ability to work under pressure;

* Previous experience in working with local authorities and international institutions;

* Ability to work within a team;

* Writing and communication skills in English;

* Driven license is preferable.
