Heritage and Tourism Development Meeting

tourism stu.20161 Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) in Bethlehem organized a meeting with the students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at the University of Bethlehem on Wednesday, March 16, aiming to raise awareness and knowledge of this group to the urgent need to preserve the cultural heritage and emphasize its economic and social importance and global value.

 

The meeting included an introduction about CCHP, its objectives, policies and projects implemented to preserve the cultural heritage, in addition to addressing the importance of linking heritage to sustainable development of any society.

 

tourism stu.2016 Ms. Mays Salsa’, head of Public Awareness and Public Relations at CCHP emphasized on the need for hand in hand cooperation to preserve the cultural and historical heritage, which would support the development of tourism and tourism services in the region, and displayed photos for some of the projects that the centre implemented in Palestine, through which the heritage was linked to the tourism development confirming the possibility of re-use of these traditional buildings as tourist attraction points, which constitute a large part of the economy.

 

At the end of the meeting, the centre distributed pamphlets and publications for tourism marketing, and the most important places in Bethlehem among the participating students, where they have paid tribute, expressed their gladness and thanked everyone who has made the workshop a success, as this meeting is considered a base for their future position as leaders for tourism.
