The lecture which was introduced by architect Nada Atrash from (CCHP), was held at Venice hall at Bethlehem Municipality, included a thorough explanation about World Heritage and its role, the history and development of the preparation of the nomination documents of Bethlehem, in addition to an overview on the Inventory of Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites of Outstanding Universal Value in Palestine, an outline of the nomination document as submitted to the World Heritage Committee in January 2011.
It is worth mentioning that the nomination document to inscribe Bethlehem on the World Heritage List was prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in cooperation with the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation in Bethlehem and Bethlehem Municipality under the technical supervision of the UNESCO Office – Ramallah, and was funded by the World Heritage Fund.
