Mrs. Dalal Desagneaux accompanied by Mrs. Hind Khoury and a delegation of twelve other women visit CCHP

french2 group2012 Mrs. Dalal Desagneaux; the wife of the French Consul General in Jerusalem Mr. Frédéric Desagneaux, accompanied by Mrs. Hind Khoury, former Palestinian ambassador to France, and a delegation of twelve other women visited the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation in Bethlehem to learn more about efforts to preserve the cultural heritage assets in Bethlehem governorate.

 

The guests listened to a presentation conducted by architect Issam Juha, the Director of the Centre about the various projects implemented by CCHP, and the role of the Centre in employing the conservation projects as a tool for development. The guests also listened to a presentation about the preparation of the nomination document to inscribe Bethlehem on the World Heritage List: Birthplace of Jesus – Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route.

 

french group2012 The guests finished their visit with a site visit to Hosh Hanania Project at the Star Street; a building which was demolished due to some poor practices during a conservation process in 1999, was reconstructed by CCHP in 2012. The guests were impressed by the project, and by the efforts of CCHP in preserving the cultural heritage assets in the Governorate
