Arch. Issam Juha director of CCHP welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of such lectures and their role in promoting a sense of responsibility and belonging to the place and its relationship to the development of tourism and its benefits to the economy.
In turn, Mr. Backleh spoke about the reason why this tree is distinguished from other trees and its relationship to the community development. Mr. Backleh focused his headlines about the olive tree through history, origin and proliferation, symbol of peace, elements of biodiversity, and the prospects for eco-tourism. As well, he emphasized the need to highlight the Palestinian cultural heritage and promote it properly, where Palestine possesses many of the underlying resources that need a strategic plan and a variety of programmes to exploit and develop Palestinian society socially and economically.
Participants expressed their appreciation for organizing such important and successful lecture, where they paid tribute to the work of the CCHP and its efforts in the preservation of cultural heritage in Palestine and cultural identity, and the work of Mr. Backleh in the field. The lecture ended with questions from the participants, regarding the development of tourism and ways of doing so.
