"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
Within the framework of the project "Management Plan for the World Heritage Site: Bethlehem, the Birthplace of Jesus: The Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route", which is being implemented in partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Bethlehem Municipality, the Presidential Committee for the Restoration of the Church of the Nativity, and Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP), a workshop with decision-makers, officials and stakeholders of the World Heritage Site was organized to manage and implement proposed projects to revitalize Star Street (Pilgrimage Route).
CCHP is working towards protecting one of the most important water springs in Battir, “Ein Al-Balad”, and its square “Al-Maidan Square”, thus reviving the intangible heritage, mainly the inherited traditions passed down through generations through reviving the traditional festivals that used to take place once, and promoting the Agritourism of Battir.
