"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
As a part of the advocacy campaign that accompanies the implementation of the "Management and Conservation of Natural and Cultural Resources in Bethlehem Governorate: Battir Landscape Eco-museum project"; the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – Bethlehem (CCHP) organized a field trip on Friday, 19 April 2013. The trip targeted Tourism students from the Bethlehem Bible College who explored the hiking trail that connects Al-Makhrour/Beit Jala with the Village of Battir.
Within its training, developing and capacity building of human resources strategy, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP), is hosting a group of trainees from the French School of Architecture of Versailles from April 19th to April 27th, 2013. The trainees along with their teachers will work on the study and plans of one street in Al-Najajreh Quarter – Bethlehem, during this period and in cooperation with the engineers of CCHP.
As part of the activities that accompany the rehabilitation projects funded by The Italian Government – Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem through the Palestinian Municipalities Support Programme (PMSP), CCHP held a workshop for the Proposal writing, on the 1st and 2nd of March, at the new locale for Holy Land Trust (Hosh Hanania), which was rehabilitated by CCHP in 2012.
As part of the community activities that accompany the projects funded by the Government of Sweden - Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida" through the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Culture Organization (UNESCO) Ramallah Office, CCHP held capacity building workshop on Friday 22nd for its staff at Manager Square Hotel Bethlehem.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, H.E. Ms. Rula Ma'aya, has proclaimed the Charter on the Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Palestine "The Palestine Charter" during a press conference that was held in Jacir Palace Hotel in Bethlehem on Wednesday, 6 February 2013, and attended by representatives of governmental agencies, national non-governmental stakeholders, local bodies, and academic institutions. The Permanent Palestinian Delegation to UNESCO also deposited a copy of the Charter to the director of the World Heritage Centre in Paris.
