battir route2014 As a part of the advocacy campaign that accompanies the implementation of the "Management and Conservation of Natural and Cultural Resources in Bethlehem Governorate: Battir Landscape Eco-museum project"; the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – Bethlehem (CCHP) organized a field trip on Thursday, 4 April 2014. The trip targeted students from the Evangelical School in Beit Sahour and Dheisheh School for Girls who explored the hiking trail that connects Al-Makhrour/Beit Jala with the Village of Battir.

Voluntary works

voluntary 2014 Within the activities and programmes of community participation associated with the rehabilitation projects of traditional buildings carried out by the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) in Bethlehem, CCHP has organized a voluntary work day in the historic town of Bethlehem with the participation of members of the Bethlehem youth council and a group of De La Salle Scout Bethlehem, in addition to the members of the Ma'an for Life Organization.

Oil painting in traditional buildings

painting workshop2014 Within the efforts of the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) to preserve the cultural heritage and its sources in Bethlehem, CCHP has organized a workshop to build the capacities in the field of oil painting in traditional buildings for engineers and technicians in this field.  The workshop will took place from the 17th to the 30th of March, 2014 at Dar Morcous Nassar, under the supervision of the expert Caroline Pholien from Belgium. This workshop is the first of its kind in Bethlehem area specialized in traditional painted ceiling and murals.

Rehabilitation of Dar Morcos Nassar

nassar Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) in cooperation with Riwaq – Centre for Architectural Conservation rehabilitated Dar Morcos Nassar, one of the palaces in the Historic centre of Bethlehem, to be re-used by the Ma’an Lilhaya (L’arche Bethlehem) that serves people with special needs and help them to integrate into society.
