"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
A USAID – DAI Compete Project delegation headed by Conan Peisen -Director- Economic Growth Office visited the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) on Wednesday, 12 November 2014 with the aim to observe the projects funded by the USAID in the West Bank in general and particularly in Bethlehem.
The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation hosted a workshop carried out by The Old City of Jerusalem Revitalization programme – Welfare Association under the title "Introduction on Structural Analysis and Consolidation of Historical Buildings in Palestine", targeting engineers and architects from Jerusalem area and CCHP team.
It was a great opportunity to work with ICCN Secretariat headquarter in Gangneung city for about 5 months, Gangwon province , which is located about 4 hours by bus from Seoul. This period of time was full of incredible experiences and activities. It was a period of fruitful cultural exchange where I presented my culture and discover the Korean one in an international environment working in an office with more than four nationalities.
As a part of the advocacy campaign carried out by the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – Bethlehem (CCHP), the Centre organized a field trip to Battir on Saturday, 25 October 2014. The trip targeted the staff of the Health Directorate in Bethlehem to explore the hiking trail that connects Al-Makhrour -Beit Jala with the Village of Battir.
In cooperation with the Engineers Association – Bethlehem Branch, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) has organized a cultural-educational trip to Jenin within the community participation activities done by CCHP. Around 110 persons participated in this trip including engineers form the Engineers Association – Bethlehem Branch, representatives of Bethlehem, Beit Jala and Beit Sahour Municipalities and the staff of the CCHP. The Engineers Association – Jenin Branch welcomed the visitors and introduced them to Jenin's cultural and ancient sites and gave them valuable information about each site.
