"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
In cooperation with the Engineers Association – Bethlehem Branch, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) has organized a cultural-educational trip to Jenin within the community participation activities done by CCHP. Around 110 persons participated in this trip including engineers form the Engineers Association – Bethlehem Branch, representatives of Bethlehem, Beit Jala and Beit Sahour Municipalities and the staff of the CCHP. The Engineers Association – Jenin Branch welcomed the visitors and introduced them to Jenin's cultural and ancient sites and gave them valuable information about each site.
The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation has signed the implementation contract for the project 'Creation of tourist entrance for Historic Town and street furniture in Bethany' with Abu Taher Assosication General Contracting. The implementation works are supposed to take about 4 months. Moreover the project is funded by The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the West Bank Compete Project.
Bethlehem Municipality and The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation celebrated the launching of " The Commercial Centre of Bethlehem- Pope Paul VI" Book by the Historian Khalil Shokeh, funded by the Italian government PMSP project through the Rehabilitation of the Commercial Area in the Old City of Bethlehem. The event took place on Thursday August 18, 2014 in Viena Hall in Bethlehem Municipality in the presence of the acknowledged figures and representatives of various GO's, NGO's and local and international committees.
In cooperation with Al-Najjah University and Burqin Municipality, The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation have organized a workshop with student of the Planning Faculty on August 19, 2014 held in the Korean hall in Al-Najjah University - Nablus. The workshop aimed at discussing the result of the surveys the students have conducted. It also aimed at emphasizing the importance of the Rehabilitation of the Urban Sites in Burqin funded by the United States Agency for International UNITED STATES AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (USAID) through the WEST BANK COMPETE PROJECT.
