"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
On Wednesday 4th, 2014 in cooperation with Compete Project, Burqin Municipality and CCHP have organized a meeting with the civil community in Burqin and a group of students of the Faculty of urban planning in An-Najah National University. The meeting aimed at introducing the Urban Sites Rehabilitation in Burqin, which is funded by the USAID through Compete Project. The meeting also aimed at setting a strategic plan with the urban planning students to preserve the cultural heritage in Burqin.
Under the patronage of H.E. Mrs. Rola' Ma'aia, Minister of MOTA, the Beit Jala Municipality in cooperation with the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) handed over St. George Hosh Complex to the Arab Orthodox Benevolent Society, on the 22nd of May, 2014. The project, funded by the Italian Government through the Palestinian Municipalities Support Programme, will be used as museum for Beit Jala after rehabilitation.
Within the activities and programmes of community participation associated with the rehabilitation projects of traditional buildings carried out by the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) in Bethlehem, CCHP in cooperation with the Al-Khader Municipality have organized a voluntary work day in the historic town of Al-Khader with the participation of students from the Al-Khader Secondary School for Boys.
BethlehemMunicipality in cooperation with the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) and the Bethlehem Youth Council, organized "Easter Competition" under the title "Bethlehem & Youth; a Symbol of Heritage and Civilization". The competition which was held on the 25th of April, aimed to introduce to the participants the history and authenticity of the heritage sites in Bethlehem.
