"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
In cooperation with the Municipality of Bethlehem, and as part of the participatory approach along with the rehabilitation projects that the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) is implementing for the traditional buildings in Bethlehem District, CCHP has organized a voluntary workday in the historic centre of Bethlehem on Friday 20th of September with Youth from De La Salle Scout Bethlehem.
The team working on the Heritage for Development Project held a meeting to revise the proposed draft of the proposed Bylaws for the Conservation of Architectural Heritage in Bethlehem with the Joint Technical Committee of the Project. The second revision of the draft was held in Bethlehem Municipality on Monday 26 August 2013, and aimed to revise the section that concerns the general interventions that are proposed in the Bylaws.
CCHP in cooperation with the BethlehemMunicipality and through the Heritage for Development Project is preparing a Management and Protection Plan for the BethlehemHistoricTown, aiming at setting mechanisms that fit with the needs and expectations of the inhabitants, and support the city's heritage status.
Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) and Al-Khader Municipality held a workshop on Wednesday 21st of August, to introduce the "Development Plan and Rehabilitation of the main street of the historic centre of Al-Khader" Project to the local community. This project is funded by the Government of Sweden - Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida" through the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO" - Ramallah Office.
Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation carried out the third meeting of the Technical Committee for the Heritage for Development (Her4Dev): "Investing in People – Development Cooperation Instrument: Strengthening Capacities in the Cultural Sector" on Wednesday the 14th of August at the Intercontinental Jacir Palace Bethlehem.
