Submitting the Nomination Documents to inscribe Bethlehem on the World Heritage List Birthplace of Jesus: the Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route.
After participating in preparing the Inventory of Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites in Palestine in 2005, and following one year of hard work to prepare the nomination documents to inscribe Bethlehem on the World Heritage List, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation, along with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Bethlehem Municipality have organized a conference to announce submitting the nomination documents to inscribe Bethlehem: Birthplace of Jesus: Church of the nativity and the Pilgrimage Route on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Referring to agenda item 157/1998 of UNESCO General assembly in its 35th session, which recalled the fact that the Palestinian city of Bethlehem is the birthplace of Jesus Christ and one of the most historic and significant sites on earth, and recalling the decision of the World Heritage Committee (during its 26th session held in Budapest on June-2002 which have recognized the Palestinian cultural and natural heritage and its outstanding universal value and called to protect it.
The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) in coordination with the Bethlehem Municipality organized for a cleaning day in Bethlehem, where number of cleaning workers from the municipality worked to remove the wastes and garbage from Hosh Hanania Building in the Historic Centre of Bethlehem accumulated in the building since many years, and which the CCHP is going to rehabilitate this year through "Job Creation through rehabilitation" programme funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida".
The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida" in cooperation with the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP), Riwaq Centre, Hebron Rehabilitation Committee and the Welfare Association organized yesterday an evaluation workshop under the title "A review of Sida's support to Historic Environment Preservation in the occupied Palestinian Territories", for those projects funded by Sida since 2001, to review the results of the evaluation for rehabilitation projects implemented by the four cultural heritage organizations (4CHO) over the past years and their impact on society.
On the 3rd of November, CCHP has celebrated the inauguration of Dar Sansour in Bethlehem and Dar Makhlouf in Beit Jala, under the patronage of Dr. Khouloud Daibes and funded by the Sweden International Development Cooperation Agency "Sida". Dar Sansour is being used by the Palestinian Conflict Resolution Centre Wi'am and Dar Makhlouf is occupied by the Women's Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling.
