Bethlehem Municipality and Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) held a workshop on Wednesday 11th of July at Vienna Hall in the Municipality to introduce the Rehabilitation "Rehabilitation of the Commercial Area in the Old City of Bethlehem" project, funded by the Italian Government through the Palestinian Municipalities Support Programme (PMSP).

The people of Bethlehem, Palestine, have addressed in an open letter the members of the UNESCO – World Heritage Committee, that within the next 72 hours will be voting on the Palestinian request to inscribe the Old City of Bethlehem “Birthplace of Jesus: Church of the Nativity and the Pilgrimage Route” to the list of World Heritage Sites.

Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) and the Municipality of Bethlehem participated in the advocacy campaign that accompanies the Palestinian bid to inscribe Bethlehem on the World Heritage List which shall be voted during the 36th session of the World Heritage Convention, held in Saint Petersburg between 24 June and 6 July, 2012, Russian Federation, participated in an official delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in receiving representatives of the international and local media in the town.

As part of the awareness activities along with the "Urban Requalification of Old Market Square in Beit Sahour" Beit Sahour Municipality and Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCHP) held an information day for the new design of the project which is funded by the Italian Government through the Palestinian Municipalities Support Programme (PMSP).

As part of the awareness activities accompanying the "Rehabilitation of Hosh Al-Syriac in Bethlehem for the adaptive reuse as guest house" project, which is funded by the Italian Government, through the Italian Cooperation Office in Jerusalem, through the Palestinian Municipality Support Programme (PMSP), CCHP in cooperation with the Bethlehem Municipality held a lecture regarding the "community participation and their role in preservation".  The lecture was held at the Syriac Society Hall, targeting the stakeholders and inhabitants of the project's area.
