"THE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE THAT EXISTS FROM PREVIOUS GENERATIONS PROVIDES A LINK BETWEEN PEOPLE AND THEIR PAST"
As part of the awareness activities concerning the" Rehabilitation of Hosh Al-Syrian for the Adaptive reuse as a guest house" project, which is funded by the Italian government, Via the Italia Cooperation office in Jerusalem, through the Palestinian Municipality Support Programme (PMSP), Bethlehem Municipality, In cooperation with CCHP held a workshop regarding the "Touristic Significance of Hosh Al-Syrian project".
As a point of advocacy campaign that accompanies the implementation of EU projects, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation CCHP organized a site visit for reporters from Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, on the 9th of March to the town of Bethlehem, in order to introduce them to the EU's project being implemented in Bethlehem (Heritage for Development (Her4Dev): investing in people for the rehabilitation & management of historic city centre).
Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation participates in the Seminar on the Actual Origin and Development of the Mediterranean Cities held in Jericho between 5 and 6 March 2012. The seminar was organized by the Permanent Conference of the Historic Cities of the Mediterranean, and ISPROM the Institute for Studies and Programmes of the Mediterranean.
Representatives of RehabiMed Association/Spain, Cultural Technologies and As Salt Municipality in Jordan, Riwaq – Center for Architectural Conservation and Ramallah Municipality in Palestine, and Bethlehem Municipality and the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation, the implementing agency of Her4Dev project met in Jordan to initiate the project and set up the action plan and guidelines for the inception of the work.
